Dear Rose Friends,
I’m greatly anticipating seeing you “in person” at our traditional May picnic. We’ll meet at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 16, at the Homemakers Club building in Melrose. We are asking each family or “pod” to bring their own picnic and lawn chairs, to socially distance, and wear masks except when eating. We will have tables scattered in the side yard for various sized groups. GRS will provide beverages and plastic utensils if you need them. The address is 25728 Park Street, Melrose. From State Road 26, turn north on Centre Street and travel one block.

This week I plan to leave some information about GRS and our picnic on the gates of where we see roses growing. We have noticed more roses now that we are doing more walking around our neighborhood. This might be a good way for each of us to reach prospective members. Enclosed is a flyer you can print out to post or give to possible members.
Besides enjoying good company we will have a few items of business. The first is to approve the Bylaws revision. The revised Bylaws are posted on our website for your perusal. Please read them before the picnic. The second is to plan our traditional ice cream social for June. Art and Cyd Wade have graciously invited us to Rose Petals Nursery for this event. Chairmen Ralph and Jean Stream will update us on plans for the fall Deep South District meeting October 15-17 at The Gateway Grand Best Western in Gainesville.
