Well, Easter is here and my hybrid teas are beginning to bloom in my back yard. What a beautiful sight with Mr. Lincoln, Beverly and all of the minis in bloom. The rain that we had last week made them happy and worked wonders for this beautiful display.
I had eye surgery last week with a slow and uncomfortable recovery period. Unfortunately, this necessitated much home rest thus not allowing me to assist at the Kanapaha Garden Festival. I am happy to have received communication that all went well; that the weather cooperated and all had a good time. Thank you all for your time, effort, and talent in this venture.
In 1954, when I graduated high school, I bought my mother a Tiffany Rose from Jackson Perkins (for $ 5.00) for Mother’s Day. We planted it by her bedroom window. It did exactly what we had hoped it would do; when the window was open in the spring and summer the fragrant aroma would permeate the room thus giving her much joy and pleasure. An additional benefit was that it provided many beautiful bouquets that graced our living room table. It is fun to look back over the years and remember the joy and pleasure roses have given you over your life time.
Yours in Roses,
