A prelude to our Christmas season: We are still feeling the ill-effects of Hurricane Irma every time that I look at our roses, or better yet, the remnants of what had been some fine roses. This, coupled with the lack of rain after Irma, continued to wreak havoc with our roses. However, the rains that we had during the Thanksgiving week reinvigorated the roses to the point that I actually have some coming into bloom. I do hope that your rose gardens are flourishing and producing beautiful blooms.
This month we have our annual Christmas Party at the church on December 10th at 2:00 P.M. We do look forward to you coming and would be particularly pleased to have your family join us too. This is a season of great joy and we would like to spread this joy to all. Shirley will provide the ham and I will provide the turkey. And, as is our custom, you will provide a covered dish. If you have any questions please call me at your convenience.
We will also have our always looked forward to ‘Christmas Grab Bag'. Please limit the cost of your grab bag present to around ten dollars. Dan has kindly consented to organize and run our grab bag this year. Just a reminder. The Deep South District Mid-Winter Meeting will be held in Gainesville from the 19th to the 21st of January, 2018. And, again, it will be held at the Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel off of I-75 and 39th Avenue. There will be a number of classes available that will provide you with informative and valuable information in your pursuit of producing, showing, and enjoying beautiful roses. There will also be vendors selling roses and related items. But, best of all, this venue will give you the opportunity to meet, greet, and enjoy old friends and to meet new ones.
